Holiday shopping is quickly approaching and we are all starting to think about those “perfect” gifts! Over the next couple of weeks, I am going to be rolling out some great gift ideas for all of those special people in your life. Many of the items will have a health and fitness related theme, with a few other fun things mixed in here and there. If you aren’t in Christmas shopping mode just yet, I get it! We don’t want to completely skip over Thanksgiving. But take a look, and feel free to use these guides as a reference when you are ready to shop!
Today I am sharing a Holiday Gift Guide for Kids. We have bought almost all of these items for our own two kiddos and they have all been a hit! (I wouldn’t share them with you if they were a complete bomb)! So with no further ado, below are some great, active focused gift ideas for kids!
1. Skywalker Trampoline with Enclosure
We have bought not one, but two of these Skywalker Trampolines. When we moved south, it wasn’t worth transporting, so we gave it away. Last Christmas we bought the exact same one for our son. This may be my all-time favorite purchase. I personally think it has more spring on it compared to many other small trampolines, so kids really feel like they are going high (but in a safe enclosure). I love the bar that allows them to hold on and the netting that goes all the way around the trampoline. It holds up very well, and both of my kids would pick this over anything else in the play room, most days. If you are setting it up indoors, it really doesn’t take up much room and it is the perfect active toy to help them get some energy out (especially during those long winter months)!
2. Micro Kickboard Scooter
If you are looking for the best scooter ever, this is it! Our daughter has the deluxe (5yrs-12yrs) and our son has the mini deluxe (2yrs-5yrs). The Micro Kickboard Scooter is different than so many others on the market today because it has a lean-to-steer design so your child steers the scooter by using their body weight to lean left and right. By doing this, your child learns balance and coordination. They use the break on the back of the scooter to stop, and the scooter is made with high quality wheels making it very smooth and quiet to ride. We take our kids scooters so many places with us, and I always have parents stop me and ask what kind of scooter they are using. I also love this scooter because it will grow with them. The handle bar is adjustable, so as they grow, you just keep pulling the bar up!
3. Tumbl Trak Gymnastics Bar
I recently did a blog post about kids fitness and I talked about the gymnastics bar we bought my daughter. I have had some inquiries about where we bought this bar so I thought it was worth sharing. This is such a great purchase if your child has any interest in gymnastics or tumbling. Brylee will put her little gymnastics leotard on, and swing away for the longest time. I did so much research on different bar options, and this is the one we decided on and we have been very happy with it. The skills she has learned from practicing at home have carried over into her gymnastics class in a really great way.
4. Gymnastics Mat
Well first off, DO NOT buy a gymnastics bar without a mat, obviously! This is the one we bought for our daughter. Even if you don’t buy a gymnastics bar, a mat can be a really great addition to your playroom. My kids love to cartwheel, do rolls, and just be crazy! I love the knowing they do all of this on a mat, instead of on the hard floor. They also love to set it up and use it as a fort!
5. GOLME PRO Pop Up Soccer Nets
If your child is into soccer, or you are looking for a fun activity for the backyard, these soccer nets are really great! You can fold them up and store them so easily and because they fold up so great, they don’t take up any storage room! To set them up, you literally just pop them up and stick the forks into the ground.
6. Little Tikes Basketball Hoop
I know this one is kind of a given, but it has been one of my sons favorite things. We bought this Little Tikes basketball hoop last year and set it up outside. Just recently, I brought it inside and put it in the playroom. He absolutely loves it. He’ll play with it for the longest time. I feel like it is one of those oldies but goodies.
7. Strider Balance Bike
A balance bike is a two-wheeled pedal-less bike that teaches kids how to balance on two wheels. Balance bikes are a replacement for tricycles and training wheels. The recommended age for a balance bike is 18 months to 5 years old. Unlike tricycles and training wheels, toddlers can hop on a balance bike and start scooting around from day one. There are numerous balance bikes on the market today, but I have done some research on them, and really like this Strider Balance Bike. Please note, there are different sizes for different ages.
8. Plae Shoes
These tennis shoes stand the test of time. They are my all time favorite tennis shoes for kids and I buy them for mine! Do you know how kids have a way of always dragging their toes on the floor and running the tips of their shoes? Plae was brilliant in adding the additional rubber to this very area so they can drag all they want, and it won’t ruin the shoe! They have so many cute designs!
9. Bouncy Horse
Did any of you have the bouncy hopper ball growing up? I remember I would bounce around our basement for the longest time as a kid! I loved it! We bought our daughter the ball a couple years ago but she always had a hard time getting on it. Last year, we bought this bouncy horse instead and it has been a huge hit for both of our kids. The ears make it really easy to hold onto, and it is low to the ground, making it easy to get on and off.
10. Moluk Bilibo
I love this toy because it allows your children to use their imagination on how they are going to use it. There are numerous ways a child can use the bilibo. They can sit in it and spin, use it in the pool, pack snow in it, use it to carry their toys, or even jump off of it. The functionalities are endless. This video gives some great ideas of how children play with the bilibo.
11. Hammock Pod Kids Swing/Chair Nook
So this is seriously the coolest thing. If you have a big playroom or basement, this would be a perfect addition. My kids love to swing and I am trying to think of where we could put this hammock because they would love it. It is also perfect for a tree outside and the mounting hardware is included. This hammock is almost fully enclosed so your little’s won’t fall out or fall off like an open swing. It can also be used as a fun little reading nook if you don’t have the room to make it a swing.
12. PlaySkool Sit ‘n Spin
Ok – one more oldy but goody. I still remember our sit in spin growing up. I loved it, and would spin around for the longest time so naturally we bought a sit ‘n spin for our kids a couple of years ago! This is one of my kids favorite things right now (and we bought it 2 years ago, go figure). They will take it all over the house and spin and crack up laughing. It is pretty fun to watch!
13. Grow-To-Pro Triple Hit Baseball
This baseball set grows with your child. It teaches kids the basics of swinging and timing. This toy actually throws the ball into the air, teaching your child hand eye coordination.
So that’s it! A round up of some really great active toys for your kids, nieces, nephews, or cousins! Happy shopping!
