Surprise! We are so very excited to share that we’re having a baby!! Little baby Z will be making its entrance into the world in October. I have been anxiously waiting to share this news with all of you and am so happy it is finally out there!
To be honest, we wrestled with having another baby for a really long time. We always planned on 3, but then we got to 2 and I felt pretty done, haha! But we reached the crossroad where we had to decide if we were going to take the plunge and get rid of all of the baby stuff, and I just couldn’t do it! So, after a lottttt of thought and so much prayer, we went for it. We are so excited and feel such a peace, knowing this baby completes our family.
How This Pregnancy Has Affected fitandhealthymomlife.com
For so many reasons it has been really hard to keep up with my normal “health and fitness” chatter because of some of the experiences I have had during my first trimester. So first let me tell you, I so appreciate you all continuing to engage, read, and keep in touch. I have so many big plans for this blog but during this season, I have just had to take a step back because sometimes the first trimester is just no joke!!
Healthy Food, Say What?!
With my first two pregnancies, I felt very normal, yes tired, but still normal. I craved fruit big time, didn’t really have blah days, it was just life as usual. This time around has been very different. Food has been far from appealing and often the sight or smell of it just makes me so sick to my stomach. I am usually a smoothie, avocado toast and salad girl, and really all I have craved is sourdough bread, pizza and spaghetti! Carb overload for sure! So, the thought of blogging about healthy recipes and posting really delicious, healthy meal options on Instagram, has been almost non-existant!!
Why I Had To Hit Pause on my Workout Routine
Again, going back to my first two pregnancies, I did not work out at all. I was really hoping to do things differently this time around and make it an active pregnancy. I was so intrigued to see how differently I would feel. But, my body had other plans.
Shortly into my first trimester I found out I had subchorionic hemorrhaging. I’ll spare you some of the details of how I realized this. If you really want to know, reach out to me and I’ll tell you in a private message! But, I had hemorrhages with both Brylee and Graham, so it was nothing new for me. However, I was really hoping not to have it this time around. When you have subchorionic hemorrhaging you really need to avoid activities like heavy lifting, exercise, and walking for long periods of time. So, needless to say, I said goodbye to my exercise routine. Thankfully, my ultra sound this past week was completely clear, and the hemorrhaging seems to be gone. I am so thankful for this! We’ll see about adding some light workouts back in after I meet with my doctor.
Now That I Have Those Explanations Out of the Way….
I really don’t love talking about my pregnancy woes because in the grand scheme of life, it really isn’t a big deal. But, because my entire brand is about fitness and health, I felt I needed to explain why I haven’t talked about topics like fitness recently. But don’t worry!! Now that the news is out, you will be getting some fitness talk just in different forms. I already have some projects in the works that I can’t wait to share with you.
And the healthy tips and recipes will be making their way back! I actually sat down this week to research new recipes which I have not done in over 2 months. I am feeling so much better, and can’t wait to dig into some topics for all of you!
Thank You!!
Again, I just want to say thank you to all of you for your continued support, for reading the blog, engaging on social media, and just reaching out. As I’ve said before, just because we put pretty pictures on social media, or write a post with fun pictures, doesn’t mean there isn’t a whole lot going on in the background. During this season, it has just been important for me to give any ounce of energy I have to my family, because it hasn’t been much! So, thank you for sticking with me and I can’t wait to be back in full swing with all kinds of fun new content to throw your way!!!
Side note…..it was absolutely freezinggggg and so windy outside when we took these pictures and these two kiddos were so so patient. Oh the things we do sometimes for a picture. 🙂
