My mind is on all things baby, as we are counting down the weeks until we meet our sweet baby girl. I am slowly checking items off of my to-do list and thinking through the final things we need to get. So, I thought this was the perfect time to talk about some must have baby products….Let me clarify – not products you think you “need” and never end up opening (ah hem….baby wipes warmer). But, I’m talking about those products that seriously make all the difference and are actual necessities. So here we go, my 12 must have baby products.
This is my all-time favorite noise machine (and we have bought our fair share). My daughter has had hers since she was a baby, and it’s still going strong, 6 years later. It gives off the perfect calming white noise without being too overpowering. The Dohm offers two speeds and many different “tones” depending on your preference.
Yes, this is a bit hilarious, gross, and my husband refuses to use it, but it WORKS!! Throw away all of your nose suckers that are hard to use and gross to clean out, and go buy yourself a snotsucker. It is seriously the best product out there to get all of those boogers out of your little ones nose. And you do get use to the fact that you’re literally sucking snot out of their nose, I promise.
I didn’t have a “cute” wrap with my first 2 kids because I didn’t wear either of them too much, so it wasn’t on my radar. But, I am pretty sure baby #3 will be attached to me most of the time so I have been on the hunt for the best baby wrap. I asked Instagram world what the best wrap was, and Solly Baby Wrap won by a long shot. This is a great wrap because it is lightweight which helps with the heat you will give off between you and baby. It is ideal for newborns to 9 months old or (up to 25 pounds). It is super cute, easy to put on, and made with a soft material for baby.
I know there are some super cute sleepsacks out there today, but I still love the tried and true Halo sleepsack. Swaddling both of my kids was a must, otherwise they would become overstimulated. I love the Halo brand because they are easy to put on, so comfortable for baby, and they wash up so well, without being too expensive.
Most pack and play mattresses are thin and don’t provide too much support, especially as baby gets older. When my son was about 18 months, we were going on vacation and I felt so bad that he had to sleep in the uncomfortable, hard pack n play so we finally bought a pack n play mattress and it was a game changer! It fits right into a standard size pack and play and has the feel of a crib mattress. It’s the best!
Diaper rash is just heartbreaking because you know it’s as painful as it looks. I have tried several different diaper rash creams. Some options that are clean and organic, and others where I don’t even care, as long as it helps my baby! I have found my favorite go-to is the Bourdreaux’s Butt Paste. It works so well and is really gentle on their skin. Have this on hand in case of emergency!
Having a humidifier on hand is a must. Sure, you may not always need it, but when you need it, you NEED it. This Ultrasonic humidifier safely and quietly moisturizes the air for over 17 hours, continuously. It features a automatic shut-off, night light function, and quiet operation. While I don’t personally own this one, I’ve been eyeing this one as it’s a great price and gets really good reviews.
I love all Beautycounter products because they ensure their ingredients are safer. I switched my kids bath products to Beautycounter about 6 months ago, and I love them! So yes, baby will be using them as well. All of the products are so gentle and free of harmful ingredients.
This bath seat is so helpful when your little one starts to sit up, but is still slipping all over the bathtub. The suction cups on each of the seat’s arms create a stable and safe design. It gives them more control in the bathtub, making it so fun, while also freeing up your hands! I love this product so much as it seriously makes bath time so much easier.
While this product isn’t so much for newborn baby stage, it is definitely a must for baby feeding/highchair stage. If you currently on baby #1, let me give you a big warning, kids are messy in the highchair!! I remember with Brylee, I didn’t know of any stylish mats like this, and we would put a towel under her highchair because I was tired of cleaning the floor after every meal. I am so excited to have this cute mat on hand this time around! First off, it obviously looks much better than a towel. I love the chic design. But the best part is, you simply wipe up food and spills on its stain resistant surface, never having to stick it in the laundry (best invention ever)!
I am currently obsessed with this 5 in 1 cover and can’t wait to use it with our baby girl! Any other nursing mama’s out there, hate nursing wraps that don’t cover you all the way around? It’s super awkward at times, especially when your little one starts to grip things, and flings it straight up in the air! We are coming a long way, because so many brands are finally making cover ups to completely cover you. But, I especially love the Copper Pearl brand because it is a multi-use cover. It can be used as a car seat cover, a nursing cover, a shopping cart cover, a high chair cover, and an infinity scarf. And they are so adorable and come in all sorts of patterns and solid colors.
Every baby needs one good swaddle blanket! Again, staying with the Copper Pearl brand, I love their swaddle blankets! They are lightweight and breathable so your little one will stay comfy and cozy without overheating. And the blankets large size means it will grow with your child – from receiving blanket to toddler play mat. There are so many adorable patterns to choose from, it’s a great staple to have.
